Parking meters are enforced in Princeton Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 7 PM, with the following exceptions:
Long-term parking lots vary, and enforced from 8 AM to 6 PM or from 6 AM to 6 PM
Meters in the Central Business District are enforced Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 1 PM to 8PM
Meters at the Princeton Station commuter lot are enforced Monday through Saturday 6 AM to 8 PM

The purpose of time limits is to ensure that parking spaces regularly become available for customers of area business and visitors to the downtown.

ON-STREET PARKING IN NON-METERED AREAS
Time limits and hours of enforcement are posted on signs in each residential area that allows on-street parking, and need to be adhered to at all times.
Reserved for use by businesses in the Central Business District.
Parking is permitted in loading zones after hours of enforcement for that specific area.
Single space will accept Smart Cards, U.S. nickels, dimes and quarters. It is illegal to put anything other than these coins in a meter, or to tamper with a meter in any way. Refunds can only be given if a Smart Card was used for payment.
Rates vary per location, and are generally lower outside of the Central Business District.
MUNICIPAL PARKING GARAGE at SPRING STREET
PAY-ON-FOOT QUICK PAY STATIONS: Payment for parking should be made PRIOR to returning to your car by utilizing one of the Pay-On-Foot Quick Pay Stations located on the lower level of the parking garage by all main entrances. Payment can be made with cash, credit card, or Smart Card.
As of March 17, 2014, daily parking in the commuter lot at Princeton Station on Alexander Street is metered or by permit.
Refunds will not be given.
The numbered metered parking spaces are located on the west side of the Princeton Station lot closest to Alexander Street. One multispace pay station is located in the center of the lot, and two multispace pay stations are located next to the temporary train platform. You can pay at any multispace pay station.

Take and retain your receipt (which does NOT need to be displayed on your dashboard).
Payment can be made with $1 and $5 bills, credit cards or Smart Cards. It is illegal to put anything other than acceptable payment in a meter, or to tamper with a meter in any way.

The rate is $.30 per hour.

Overnight Permit Parking
Overnight parking is allowed only by permit in numbered meter spaces. Overnight parking in nonmetered spaces is prohibited. 24, 48, and 72 hour permits may be purchased through the multispace paystations.

Advanced payment options
The multispace system allows you to pay by phone using the mPay2Park website or the mPay2Park app.
Multilingual: The multispace pay stations can be operated in English, Spanish, French and Mandarin.
Sustainable: The new multispace system is more efficient and sustainable. It allows the municipality to use fewer meters, and the meters are solar powered. The system also provides users with a wider range of payment options.
Street parking: Multi-space metered parking is available on Alexander Street. These meters do allow payment by coin.
Wawa parking: The retail lot has 15 minute single-space meters for your use. Coins and Smart Cards are accepted payment methods.

Princeton Public Library
Library parking is available in the Spring Street Garage which is adjacent to the library. Entrance to the garage is off of Spring Street or off of Wiggins to Sylvia Beach Way. Library card holders can have their tickets validated for up to 2 hours of free parking when they visit the library.
