Road Work- Week of October 21, 2019
Monday 10/21-Thursday 10/25 Overnight work
The PSE&G gas main replacement project will continue. This will be overnight work from 9p-6a, weather permitting. The work will be on Rt 27 (Princeton-Kingston Rd) near Poe Rd/Prospect Ave Ext. and progress south heading towards Harrison St. There will be alternating traffic in the work zone.
PSE&G will begin milling and paving on the streets impacted by the gas main construction to the south of Prospect Ave. Work will proceed to South Harrison Street and then onto Prospect Avenue. Work hours are 7 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. Please abide by the emergency “No Parking”signs, which will be posted 24 hours before PSE&G’s operation begins on your street.
206 nighttime work will continue on Rt 206 (State Rd).
ALEXANDER STREET PRE-CLOSURE CONSTRUCTION WORK
During the week of October 21, PSE&G and New Jersey American Water Company (NJAW) may have contractors working on or near Alexander Street between the D&R Canal and West Drive. Work zone traffic control will be coordinated if PSE&G and NJAW are working at the same time. An alternating traffic pattern will be in place while work is occurring; please use an alternate route if possible during work hours.
Full closure of Alexander Rd Friday October 25, 8pm-Sunday October 27, 5am
Beginning on Friday, October 25 at 8:00 pm, Alexander Street will be fully closed until 5:00 am on Sunday,October 27 to allow for work by New Jersey American Water Company and Princeton’s contractor. Please follow the detour route on Faculty Road and Washington Road.
Mount Lucas Road Construction Work
Beginning on Friday, October 25, weather permitting, Princeton’s contractor will begin work to replace curbs, sidewalks, and storm drainage on Mount Lucas Road between Cherry Hill Road and Valley Road. This work, including paving, is expected to take five weeks. Mount Lucas Road will be fully closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic during the work hours of 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Vehicles shall use an established detour on Mount Lucas Road / Jefferson Road / Valley Road during work hours. Pedestrian access will be provided before and after work hours, except when foot traffic is prohibited on curing concrete sidewalks; all effort will be made to provide a pedestrian detour. There may be a detour of NJ Transit Route 605 and the FreeB. More information regarding transit detours will be posted on our website when it is available.
All work is weather permitting. Please plan alternate route and expect delays. Follow posted detours.
