Mayor Lempert Proclaims June 4, 2018 Tourette Syndrome Awarenss Day in Princeton
Mayor Liz Lempert proclaimed June 4, 2018 as Tourette Syndrome Awareness Day in Princeton. Mayor Lempert presented the Proclamation to Charles Griebell, a Princeton High School student who lives with Tourette Syndrome most of his life. Tourette Syndrome symptoms can be first noticed in children ages 3-9. Approximately 200,000 Americans have the most severe form of Tourette Syndrome while one in 100 will show mild symptoms such as motor or vocal tics. Charles has been a mentor for younger children suffering from this disorder and is a Youth Ambassador for the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome (NJCTS) and is featured in the Tourette Association of America Spotlight.
