Responsibilities
The Mayor is elected at-large to a four-year term.
She/He is responsible for the operation of Princeton municipal government. The Mayor appoints, with the advice and consent of council, all subordinate officers of the municipality. She/he sees that state laws and borough ordinances are faithfully executed. Presides over the Council. Votes only to break ties. Can veto ordinances subject to override by 2/3 majority of Council. Appoints subordinate officers with Council approval; after 30 days or upon Council disapproval, Council fills posts.
