Do I need to have my rental property inspected in between tenants?

That depends.  Single and two family rental properties are inspected every two years and are issued a Certificate of Compliance that is valid for two years from the date of inspection, even if you have a change in tenants during that time.

Owner occupied exempt rentals are required to obtain a Certificate of Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide & Kitchen Fire Extinguisher whenever there is a change of tenants.

Please contact the Bureau of Rental Housing Inspection to be sure you apply for the correct certificate.
