[ARCHIVED] Mayors Wellness Campaign

MWC Logo

Every year, there is a statewide initiative led by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute for townships in NJ to improve community health and promote healthier lifestyles for residents called the Mayors Wellness Campaign. In 2019, Princeton was designated as a “New Jersey Healthy Town to Watch” for our previous work in the campaign. This year, our project is to reduce the effects of social isolation, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic, with the theme of “Look How We Have Grown…”. Focusing on mental wellness following COVID-19, the Princeton Health Department started by hosting watercolor art classes with the Arts Council of Princeton to engage socially isolated individuals. These classes were hosted online and in-person, incorporating both painting and at-home gardening with the Garden Club of Princeton.

Continuing the MWC, Princeton Public Library is launching a series of events and activities focusing on the mental wellness of families, children and individuals of all ages in Princeton.
