Tax Collection

2021 1st Quarter Taxes are due February 1, with a 10 day grace period. If payment is received after February 10, the interest calculates from the due date of February 1.

The municipal buildings remain closed to the public. We are encouraging online payment for your safety and ours. Payment can be made online using your checking account with no fee or a credit card with a 2.65% fee added to your payment. If you need to mail or drop off your payment, please view the instructions listed below and be sure to include your property information. If you require a receipt please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. 

Princeton has closed all municipal buildings to the public. Therefore, payments can either be:

  1. Mailed to:
    400 Witherspoon Street
    Attn: Tax Office, Princeton, NJ 08540
  2. Dropped off Monday through Friday, in the Police lobby drop box located at:
    1 Valley Road
    Princeton, NJ 08540
  3. Paid online through our Tax Portal no fee if paid through your checking account and a 2.65% fee if paid with credit card.

Property Tax Reimbursement forms can be mailed or dropped off at the above locations, and once completed we will mail back to you. No cash will be accepted.


Anyone wanting a receipt should include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Please note that the estimated bill format is different from normal bills and will include and insert with additional information
