Administration
The Administration Department is responsible for implementing policies of the Mayor and Council, supervising department work, public relations, and other tasks for administrative procedures.

Affordable Housing
The Princeton commitment to Affordable Housing provides housing opportunities for a broad range of residents from diverse social and economic backgrounds. The Affordable Housing Department consists of the rental and sales programs.

Building & Construction
The Department is charged with the enforcement of the New Jersey State Building codes. Also known as the "New Jersey Uniform Construction Code", which are the State mandated codes that provide for the safety and well being of Princeton's residents.

Clerk
The Municipal Clerk serves as secretary to the Princeton Council and is the custodian of all minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds and archival records of the municipality.

The Bureau of Fire Safety is responsible for ensuring compliance with the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code.

The Finance Department is responsible for the collection and disbursement of Municipal Funds. It is also responsible for maintaining the municipal financial records, including debt management planning.

The Bureau of Rental Housing Inspections is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Princeton Housing Code and the Princeton Rental Registration Regulations.

Sewer Department
The Sewer Department plans, develops, and operates the Princeton municipal sanitary sewer collection system and River Road Convenience Center and is governed by Municipal Law.

It is the duty of the Assessor's Office to uniformly value all properties in Princeton, so that all taxpayers pay their fair share of the obligations of the schools, the County and the municipality.

The Vital Statistics Department is a division of the Health Department. They are responsible for processing all birth, death, marriage, civil union, and domestic partner licenses for Princeton.

The Zoning Department reviews proposed buildings (structures), subdivisions, site plans, signs and flats for compliance with the zoning ordinance, and issues zoning, sign and flat permits.
