The Princeton Environmental Commission reminds you that the easiest and most environmentally efficient way to manage your leaves is to leave your leaves in your yard.  Compost them, mulch them, or rake them into an unobtrusive area of your property. Broken down leaves will nourish your grass, plants and trees. For a more detailed description of how and why to leave your leaves, go to: www.princetonnj.gov/EC/index

Did You Know:

•          Leaves in the streets are unsafe to children, pedestrians, and cyclists
•          Leaves left in the streets reach our streams and drinking water, producing a negative effect on both.
•          Leaves on your property provide free nutrients for your yard &
gardens.

Leave the Leaves:
•          Compost them:  Rake them back into a wooded area or into a leaf corral in your yard
•          Mulch them: Mow them into your lawn or put them on your garden beds for a nutrient kick and to suppress weed growth
•          Bag them:  If they have to leave your property
