PRINCETON HOUSING BOARD’S MISSION STATEMENT
The Princeton commitment to Affordable Housing provides housing opportunities for a broad range of residents from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
The Housing Board administers the following program:
PURCHASES: The Affordable Housing Purchase program offers properties for sale in two Princeton communities. Washington Oaks, on 206 South at Hutchinson Drive across from Jasna Polana Golf Course, is a development of 300 properties consisting of condominiums, townhomes and single family homes. Sixty of the condominiums, one- to three-bedroom, are offered to low- and moderate-income eligible purchasers. Princeton also offers Affordable Housing sales at Griggs Farm, which is on 206 North at Cherry Valley Road. This development of 280 properties has 70 moderate-income one-, two-, and 3-bedroom condominiums and townhomes interspersed with 70 low-income rentals and 140 open-market sales.
In addition, the Housing Board provides support and oversight for the following three programs:
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: From time to time, Habitat for Humanity offers housing opportunities for sale in Princeton. This “work partnership program” usesPrinceton's income guidelines, applications and waiting list to qualify purchasers when an appropriate situation becomes available. RENTALS: Low-income-rentals are located at Griggs Farm. These range in size from one to three bedrooms. For information and applications for these, and Harriet Bryan House, which is low-income rentals for seniors, please call Princeton Community Housing at 609-924-3822, ext.10. Very low-income rentals are located at Karin Court. For information on these, please call the Housing Authority at 609-924-3448.
ASSISTED LIVING: Princeton also offers Affordable Housing opportunities at Acorn Glen, an Assisted Living residence on Mt. Lucas Road. For more information, please call 609-430-4000.
